- Understanding the need for this position in the industry Skills Center™ provides the resources and training necessary to certify this person(s) within the bowling center.
STE Skills Center™ has two tiers of participation:
- Entry Program- Contains information, organization and a best practices guide of existing BPAA, USBC and Industry programs.
- Brand License Package*- Contains information, organization, detailed best practices and how to guides, merchandise and marketing materials, and additional new programs exclusive to licensed STE Skills Centers; along with a national industry campaign directing consumers to licensed STE Skills Centers.
The Entry Package is no cost to BPAA members. However, centers may not refer to their facility as a Skill Center™ without purchasing a STE Skills Center™ brand license. Non-licensed centers are encouraged to have a staff member or staff members certified in the fields of a STE Teaching Professional™. (IBPSIA, USBC Coaching and STE Skills Center™ Teaching Professional course).
The Brand License Package costs are primarily based on the amount of marketing materials and additional programs used.
*A center participating under a STE Skill Center™ brand license package is required to actively participate at a prescribed minimum level in all components of the STE Skills Center™ program including the staffing of Certified STE Teaching Professional™ to manage/maintain the components. Skills Center Teaching Professional™
Industry Requirements
One must complete the following to earn certification as a Teaching Professional.
Pro shop -
- Hands-On Experience (any two)
- IBPSIA Hands on Training course completion
- 4 years verifiable bowling pro shop experience
- Pass a hands-on skills proficiency test.
- 8 Hours of IBPSIA accredited continuing education credit.
Instruction
- USBC Coaching Certified Coach
- Hands-On Experience (any two)
- Silver or Gold Level Instructor
- 2 years verifiable coaching experience
- Pass a hands-on skills proficiency demonstration
- 8 hours of USBC Coaching accredited continuing education credits.
Skills Center™ Management
Attend STE Skills Center™ Teaching Professional Course $499 (Next Class March 31-April 2, 2008 Arlington, TX)
Continuing Education
Active Teaching Professionals must complete 9 credit hours of continuing education every three years of certification under the following guidelines:
3 Hours of IBPSIA accredited continuing education credits.
3 Hours of USBC Coaching accredited continuing education credits.
2 Hours of STE Skills Center™ management continuing education credits.
1 Hour additional from any of the above.
